Huizen harbour

52°18’ NB, 5°14’ OL

Huizen has four marinas:

  1. The municipal marina
  2. ’t Huizerhoofd Marina
  3. Watersport Centrum marina
  4. The port of call (Aanloophaven)

The municipal marina has about 400 berths.

The marinas are accessible from Lake Gooi through a concrete channel of about 1.90 m deep. There is fixed green light on the western breakwater and a fixed red light on the eastern breakwater.

Huizen has become an attractive harbour town in recent years, with convenient facilities, a picturesque Nautical Quarter with hotel accommodation and various catering establishments.

In the old Harbour, along the fishing wharf, you will see authentic fishing smacks that remind us of the time when Huizen was an important fishing village.

There is a large supermarket within walking distance for daily shopping. The centre of the old village is about a 20-minute walk and takes you past the former fishermen’s houses.

Where is the harbour

As you approach Huizen from Lake Gooi, you will sail into the harbour through a concrete channel. Directly on the port side, you will see the ’t Huizerhoofd marina. Sail straight ahead, passed the Nautical Quarter, and into the municipal marina. The marina has about 400 berths and is ideally suited for visitors. When tying up at the pontoon you will see the Harbour Office on your left, on the eastern side of the harbour.

The Harbour Masters will meet you and provide assistance and advice from April 1 to September 30 from 08:30 to 21:00 hours on weekdays and from 08:30 to 20:00 hours at weekends.

The Harbour Master(s) can be reached via mobile + 31 (0)6 27308084 or Marine VHF channel 31, call name “gemeente haven”.
